The Kiyosu Bridge 清洲橋 is the main road entryway into Kiyosumi Shirakawa when driving from the west, such as Tokyo Station or the Nihonbashi area. This suspension bridge over the Sumidagawa river was built in 1928 based on the Deutz bridge (Deutzer Hängebrücke) design in Cologne, Germany. For the people of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa it represents the link with the center of Tokyo, right across the wide Sumidagawa. Pleasure and tourist boats pass regularly under the blue steel.
The Kiyosu Bridge is just a five minute walk from the A2, A3 or B1 subway exits.
