The 71st anniversary of the Tokyo firebombing raids 東京大空襲 was marked last weekend by fire and emergency drills in the schools and parks of Kiyosumi-Shirakawa and elsewhere. Today is the 5th anniversary of the March 11th 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami 東日本大震災, which brought great damage to the Northern prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima. I plan to be back in Sendai-Miyagi, where I lived for seven years.
