By the corner river wall next to Alohaloco, a memorial for the famous Japanese haiku poet Matsuo Basho 松尾芭蕉 of the 17th century. He lived in the Fukagawa area and from here left for the trip during which he composed “The Narrow Road to the Deep North” おくのほそ道.
